Maple Butter in a Jiffy

How to Make Maple Butter in a Jiffy

What is better than pancakes or waffles with coffee in the morning? Freshly made maple butter smothered on top of your pastry. In fact, maple butter is also perfect when spread on cornbread or biscuits, although there are distinct types of maple butter recipes that bring out the best in these baked goodies. Following are easy-does-it recipes, the first of which is perfect for waffles and pancakes, and the second is better on cornbread and biscuits. One of these recipes uses boiled syrup while the other does not involve any boiling. The boiled one is generally tastier but the other one that is not boiled looks more delightful than the other. Let’s get down to the recipes themselves.

For the first recipe, you will need a cup of pure maple sugar, which you can buy off the shelf in your local grocery store. Make sure though to pick the one that contains pure maple syrup. You will also need three-fourth cup of butter. You will also need a saucepan, preferably one with a heavy and stable bottom, a candy thermometer, a timer, a stand mixer, and ample glass containers. To make the recipe, take your saucepan and heat your maple syrup in it. After 15 minutes, your temperature should read 240 degrees Fahrenheit. At this point, you are ready to add in your butter. Stir constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Then take the mixture and beat it using the stand mixer for about 10 minutes or until the mixture is thick in consistency. Pour the mixture into the containers and store inside the refrigerator.

For the second maple candy recipe, you will need half a cup of softened butter and quarter of a cup of maple syrup. You can soften butter by using a fork to work the butter against the sides of a metal bowl. To begin, simply mix the butter and syrup and beat using the stand mixer until the mixture becomes light in consistency. It is now ready to be poured into your containers for storage in the refrigerator.

Maple Butter in a Jiffy really looks great! Thanks for the sharing your healthy easy recipes.

For something that looks like it belongs on the menu of some catering company, I'm surprised how simple it is to make. I'm half-thinking of going into the kitchen right now and try making a batch myself.

I learned a similar presentation in regards with these flapjacks during my cake decorating classes where design that is pleasing helps sell and present the product.
